Lisbon/Portugal Your relaxing time with the COLUMBUS 2 begins.
Portimao/Portugal In the lively port town in the Algarve, the heritage of Henry the
Navigator beckons you to join an interesting excursion today - visit Lagos, Sagres and Cabo Sao
Vicente*, the southernmost point of Europe. The stunningly beautiful hinterland with its orange
groves and eucalyptus forests can be explored offroad on a jeep safari*. In the village of
Monchique, you may wish to boost your energy level with delicacies typical of the country.
Malaga/Spain The pretty historic district, the city's beaches, the Moorish Alcazaba
- in Malaga, there is so much to discover until midnight. "Seeing and being seen" is the name of the
game in Marbella and Puerto Banus*. The jet set resort on the Costa del Sol and its elegant
marina offer a wonderful setting for a stroll. The fairytale-like "red castle" against the backdrop of
the Sierra Nevada mountains - that is the sight that awaits you in Granada with a visit to the
Alhambra*. A masterpiece of Moorish-Arab architecture, the interior of which will reveal to you
artistic ornaments, the Fountain of the Lions, the throne room and impressive gardens.
Barcelona/Spain The currently perhaps most inspiring metropolis in Europe and at
the same time a treasury of Catalan history - Barcelona boasts breathtaking contemporary architecture,
labyrinth-like historic alleys, gorgeous art nouveau buildings - and beautiful beaches! On the
trails of Gaudí*, you will explore the city's presumably most impressive heritage. The ingenious
architect left behind works of art such as the colourful Park Güell, the Casa Milà and the church
Sagrada Familia, which remains unfinished to the present day. The treasure of Montserrat
Monastery* in the nearby mountains is the Black Madonna, Catalonia's patroness and the reason why
many pilgrims visit the Benedictine monastery
Marseille/France Welcome to one of the oldest cities in France, which will present
to you its most significant attractions on the city tour / guided walk around the city*. These
include the magnificent Palais Longchamp and Marseille's landmark, the church Notre-Dame de la Garde
towering high over the city. Even the Romans appreciated the power of the bubbling springs of
Aix-en-Provence*, and gorgeous fountains still characterise the cityscape to the present day,
for instance at the history-steeped Cours Mirabeau. Fantastic rock formations and the water glittering
in the most beautiful shades of blue and turquoise make up the idyllic setting of your boat trip in
the Calanques with a visit in Cassis*.
St. Tropez/France A little fishing village has become a haunt of the rich and the
beautiful. Stroll through the lively alleys, soak up the sun on one of the famous beaches - enjoy the
day and the evening ashore. On the guided walk around St. Tropez*, the elegant yachts in the
port and the pretty historic district await you. Your excursion to Gassin and Port Grimaud*
takes you from one of the most beautiful villages in France to the picturesque lagoon city from the
1960s.
Monte Carlo/Monaco Seven wonderful days come to an end in the principality of the
Grimaldis.
