Nassau/Bahamas The capital city of the Bahamas welcomes you - the
starting point of your cruise with the COLUMBUS 2.
Grand Turk/Turks and Caicos Islands A wonderful morning on the beach of the little
island: snorkelling in the crystal-clear water, relaxing in a sun lounger - welcome to the
Caribbean!
Port Antonio/Jamaica One of the most beautiful bays in the Caribbean is to be found
at the foot of the Blue Mountains. After a brief stroll through the enchanting town, the raft trip
on the Rio Grande* will have you gliding through the rainforest almost inaudibly, past banana and
sugar cane plantations. Frenchman's Cove* is a picture-perfect beach that invites you to swim
and relax for a few hours.
Ocho Rios/Jamaica Carefree reggae and exquisite rum make life on the sunny
Caribbean island all the more enjoyable. On the excursion Coyaba Garden and Dunn's River Falls*,
you will discover exotic plant species and an almost 200 m high waterfall - the thundering cascades are
among the most beautiful in Jamaica. The jeep safari* takes you even deeper into the lush nature
- in the course of this excursion, you will cross the famous Farn Gully and enjoy fantastic views of
the Blue Mountains from Murphy Hill. A bobsled ride on Jamaica* is a particularly speedy
experience - travel along the winding rails on Mystic Mountain while overlooking the harbour.
Belize/Belize In what used to be the empire of the Maya, the first exciting
encounter with the legacy of this old advanced civilisation awaits you - visit the ancient Maya site
Altun Ha*. The ruins of the former trade centre are nowadays surrounded by dense rainforest - a
sight you can marvel at from the top of the main temple. At the impressive Belize Zoo*, you will
see one of the animals that was very much venerated by the Maya - it is home to jaguars as well as
numerous other endemic animals such as tapirs, pumas and ocelots.
Cozumel/Mexico Explore Mexico's gateway to the past: Chichen Itza* is
considered the most well-preserved archaeological site on the Yucatan Peninsula. Buildings such as the
Kukulcan Pyramid or the Temple of the Warriors are characterised by a variety of different styles. The
excursion Tulum and Xel-Ha lagoon* takes you to a Maya city by the sea and an impressive nature
reserve. In the course of the kayak and snorkelling experience*, you can admire colourful coral
reefs through the transparent bottom of your kayak and also under water. If you would like to encounter
the marine mammals up close, you may wish to swim with the dolphins*.
New Orleans/Louisiana A city with a unique atmosphere - "The Big Easy" swings as
though jazz had only just been invented. The heart of New Orleans beats in the French Quarter and
dictates the rhythm of the metropolis on the banks of the Mississippi. Enjoy live jazz sessions while
sipping a Hurricane cocktail in one of the legendary bars. On the city tour / guided walk around the
city* the following day, you will discover highlights such as the impressive bridge across Lake
Pontchartrain. The visit to a manor* dating back to the 19th century brings back to life the
former times of the Southern United States.
Key West/Florida Even the writer Ernest Hemingway found inspiration on Florida's
southernmost island back in his time. Lovingly restored wooden houses with wrought-iron balconies are
reminiscent of the early days and account for Key West's particularly romantic atmosphere. Gain your
first impression on an individual stroll or on the ride with the legendary Conch Train*.
In-depth experiences can be gathered while snorkelling at the coral reef* - set out from the
catamaran to explore the colourful underwater world.
Miami/Florida In the eccentric metropolis in the south of the USA, it will be time
for you to bid the COLUMBUS 2 farewell.
