PORQUEROLLES
Sea, sun, nature… Porquerolles is a
real little paradise where flowering myrtles
and heathers fill the air with their heady
perfume. As for the village, it has retained
its authentic rather secretive nature. The
passage of time and history has had no
influence over this preserved nature site
which has long been protected by those who
love its unique flora and fauna.
PORT SAINT LOUIS DU
RHONE This port of call is an
opportunity to explore Les Baux de Provence, a
world-famous site which is firmly lodged in the
region’s historic memory. Perched on a rocky
plateau in the heart of the
Alpilles, this beautifully restored village
is set amidst a magnificent landscape and has
an exceptionally rich cultural heritage,
combining the medieval with
the Renaissance.
PORT LA
NOUVELLE You will set out from
this port to discover the Cathar Fortresses, each
one of which has left its mark on history and has
its own mysterious story to tell. Abandoned for
centuries to the goats and prickly liana creepers,
the Cathar Country Castles have found their voices
again today. Thanks to the sterling work of
numerous archaeologists we can travel back in time
to the days of the great Crusades.
PALAMOS The
sweeping sandy bay of Palamos provides a
welcome break to the cliffs which dominate
the topography of the Costa Brava. It
explains why this little locality was founded
way back in the 12th century. A
former fishing village, the town is host to
some sheltered beaches anddeep rocky inlets
of turquoise blue water. Enjoy a visit to the
medieval old
town.
CITUADELA
MINORCA Tranquil and peaceful, Minorca is
the smallest of the Balearic Islands and is a
natural oasis rich in
contrasts. A real paradise bathed by the
waters of the Mediterranean sea, the harmony
and diversity of its shores will charm you.
Diving enthusiasts have been coming here for
decades, lured by the spectacular underwater
vistas. Indeed, the island’s tranquillity
owes much to the richness of its natural
assets, and is why it is now a UNESCO
Biosphere Reserve.
PALMA DE
MAJORCA Cultural centre of
the Balearics and a modern cosmopolitan
metropolis, Palma de Majorca has much to
offer isitors. Strolling through the old
town, guardian of the island’s
traditions, you will feel the past
in the cobblestone streets and city walls.
Founded by the Romans, the capital of the
Balearics was finally conquered by the
Catalans in the 13th
century.
