You will be seduced by Genoa (Italy), astonishing city, homeland of the explorer Columbus Christopher, the violonist Niccolo Paganini and the architect Renzo Piano. Imagine yourself surrounded by hills which loose themselves into the bay. You will be in the middle of a natural theatre, full of splendid palaces and narrow streets where art and culture blend together.

Day 3 - Portoferraio (Italy)
The island of elba is at the heart of the Tuscan Archipelago and presents a finely chiselled profile sheltering many unspoiled coves. roman churches, Medicean fortresses and memories of Napoleon blend into the picture postcard that is Portoferraio (Italy). It is one of the oldest towns on the island, the Ligurians, Etruscans and Greeks having shaped its history before it became a Roman colony. Here you can follow in the footsteps of Napoleon as you wind your way through the pastel-coloured houses protected by the two Medicean forts.

Day 4 - Lerici (Italy)
Opposite Portovenere, the small medieval town of Lerici (Italy) at the eastern end of the Gulf of Poets is dominated by an imposing castle built by the Pisans in the 13th century. From here you will venture out to discover the Cinque Terre National Park. Five jewel-like villages combining medieval architecture with a touch of the Renaissance are nestled into a dramatic landscape that is truly without equal.
