Lerwick/Shetland Islands In a charming manner, the lively little port town
braves the wind. On the guided walk around the town*, you will discover Fort Charlotte and
the round tower Clickimin Broch dating back to pre-Christian times.
Torshavn/Faroe Islands Follow the trails of the Vikings to Kvivik and
Kollafjoerdur* or enjoy the rugged beauty of the landscapes on the hike to Streymoy
Sill*.
Reykjavik/Iceland On the sightseeing flight over fire and ice*, you can
admire the partially glaciated volcanic island from a bird's eye view. The Golden Circle*
reveals bubbling geysers and gushing waterfalls - and one of the oldest thingsteads in the
world.
Isafjoerdur/Iceland Set out on the boat tour to Vigur* - the only farm
on the island has been family-owned for 170 years. On a kayak trip*, you can explore the
scenic Onundarfjordur Fjord.
Ny-Alesund/Spitsbergen Send your postcards home from the most northerly post
office in the world. For spectacular photo scenes, the COLUMBUS 2 subsequently cruises through the
Krossfjord, the Lilliehoekfjord and the Smeerenburgfjord or the Magdalenefjord (subject to weather
and ice conditions).
Longyearbyen/Spitsbergen Wooden facades painted in a wide array of colours
welcome you on the southern shore of the Adventfjord. The Svalbard Museum provides insights into
the long history of the settlement.
Skarsvag/Norway On Norway's northernmost island, the Sami people still preserve
their old traditions. You can also sense the magic of bygone times at the North Cape*. If
the weather gods are gracious, the famous Globe Sculpture on the rock plateau will be shimmering in
the gentle light of the midnight sun.
Hammerfest/Norway Nestling on the shore, the northernmost city in the world is
shielded by the surrounding rock faces. It offers a sight that is even more impressive from the
airy heights of the observation point Salen. Down in the city, the Meridian Column commemorates the
first official measurement of the Earth.
Leknes/Lofoten Hidden in tiny bays along the coast lie picturesque fishing
villages like Nusfjord and Sund*, the colourful wooden huts of which compete for your
attention with the blue of the sea and the white of faraway mountain peaks.
Svartisen/Holandsfjord The mighty rock and ice walls all around the Svartisen
Glacier are interrupted by deep fjords. Here, in the Saltfjell National Park, breathtaking views of
glacier tongues and valleys, small islands and the vast plateau await you.
Geiranger/Geirangerfjord The pristine beauty of the fjords, mountains and
glaciers* in the Geirangerfjord is so overwhelming quite a few visitors even forget to take
pictures. The excursion Dalsnibba and the Fjord Centre*, which shows you the fjord from a
bird's eye view, is literally a peak experience.
Hellesylt/Sunnylvenfjord Re-embarkation of the guests of the overland excursion
"fjords, mountains and glaciers".
Bergen/Norway
On the Fløyen hike*, you will enjoy fantastic views of the pulsating pearl on the banks of
the Byfjord. The Hanseatic district of Bergen* takes you back to the era of the respectable
merchants.
Kiel The rising sun welcomes you back at the end of your cruise.
*These arrangements are not included in the cruise price. The shore activities listed here are in
the planning stage and are subject to changes.
