Nice/France The perhaps most beautiful pearl of the Côte d'Azur bids you
farewell, marking the beginning of an eventful cruise.
Sete/France Idyllic canals have earned the port city the byname "Venice of the
Languedoc". The waterside promenades of the Canal Royal invite you for a particularly pleasant
stroll. Along the coast road, our journey takes us to Aigues-Mortes*, where two of the most
interesting historic buildings of the 17th century await you. In addition, you will also be
impressed by the sophisticated town houses of Montpellier* with their typical
courtyards.
Barcelona/Spain
City tour / guided walk* through a fascinating metropolis - experience buoyant Barcelona
in the Gothic quarter and on the magnificent Ramblas. In the footsteps of Gaudí*, you will
discover the masterpieces of the famous architect - from the fabulous villas to Gaudí's lifework,
the cathedral Sagrada Familia, a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Site. Or perhaps you would like to
explore Barcelona on your own initiative? On the boulevards, you can gather unforgettable
impressions!
Malaga/Spain In the city where Picasso was born*, an interesting museum
is just one of the attractions that pay tribute to the co-founder of modern art. On the excursion
Granada with a visit to the Alhambra*, you will be faced with a highlight of Moorish-Arab
architecture - between skillfully landscaped gardens, calm pools and trickling fountains, in quiet
courtyards and the splendid, richly adorned palace, the life of Arabic rulers presents itself like
a fairytale from 1,001 Nights. Today's international jet set, on the other hand, enjoys the sun and
"la dolce vita" between the white facades of Marbella and Puerto Banus*.
Cadiz/Spain Like a pearl, Cadiz rests on the tip of a promontory, its maze of
alleys with the low whitewashed houses almost coming across as Oriental. Alternatively, you can
experience Seville*, which attracts artists from all over the world with its vibrant love of
life. In Arcos and Jerez*, you will get to know the magical appeal of the white villages,
Andalusian thoroughbreds and Spain's famous sherry. Or you could encounter natural beauties on the
hike in the La Breña Nature Park* - the steep coast reveals breathtaking views.
Lisbon/Portugal The Tower of Belem erected in honour of Henry the Navigator,
the Monastery of the Hieronymites and the tile-adorned houses in the Alfama - join the city tour
/ guided walk* and discover the highlights of Lisbon. What would a day in the latter be without
Portugal's famous melancholic tunes? A traditional Fado evening* will introduce you to this
moving side of Portuguese culture. Afterwards, you can enjoy Lisbon's joie de vivre in the cosy
bars of Belem or the characteristic pubs of the Alfama until the early morning hours - the COLUMBUS
2 will be lying off the city's coast for the night.
La Coruna/Spain On a walk past the elegant facades at the port, the former
fishing town is perceived as a true jewel. At the end of the Way of St. James, one of the most
significant pilgrimage destinations awaits you - the generously adorned cathedral accounts for the
splendour of Santiago de Compostela*.
St. Malo/France St. Malo's historic district dating back to the Middle Ages
proudly towers on a small rocky island off the French coast. The enchanting alleys and squares
invite you for a casual stroll on your own initiative. Believers from all over the world habe been
pilgrimaging to the monastery island of Mont Saint Michel* for centuries. Entirely
surrounded by the sea at high tide, the Roman and Gothic buildings seem to reach for the sky.
Portsmouth (London)/England England's south coast welcomes you with wonderful
landscapes and a port city that turns out to be "very British". On a stroll, you can discover
Portsmouth, which is reminiscent of the proud tradition of the fomer naval power, individually.
While the panoramic trip through London* takes you to the heart of the empire, legendary
Stonehenge* invites you on a journey through time to the Neolithic era.
Hamburg The "gateway to the world" gives you a Hanseatic welcome.
