Venice/Italy Enjoy the beginning of a wonderful cruise as the COLUMBUS 2
glides through the lagoon in the evening light.
Sibenik/Croatia An insiders' tip on the Adriatic - at a certain distance from
the familiar travel routes, Venetian palaces and villas characterise the special atmosphere of
Sibenik. To the north of the town, you will encounter a magnificent miracle of nature - the rushing
Krka Waterfalls*. On the guided tour of Trogir*, on the other hand, you can immerse
yourself deep in history. A combination of the most diverse architectural styles conveys an idea of
the more than 2,000-year-old past of the historic centre situated on an island.
Split/Croatia
From the sea, you will be able to admire the most beautiful smile of Croatia's second largest city
- and the COLUMBUS 2 grants you plenty of time to enjoy it! On the guided walk around Split with
a visit to Diocletian's Palace*, you can explore the magnificent residence of the Roman emperor
in your own time. Traversing powerful rapids and marvelling at the enchanting landscape - white
water rafting* augurs both a thrill and idyllic sights. After sunset, Split shows its second
face - the city's seaside promenades and squares invite you for a stroll, and in the numerous cafés
and bars, the night awakes.
Korcula/Croatia The dark green colour of the lush vegetation earned Korcula the
ancient name Korkyra melaina - "black island". Today, sun-flooded vineyards extend between pine
trees and holly oaks. On the excursion The Damaltian coast and its wines* to the Pelješac
Peninsula, you will have the opportunity to taste some of the best wines of the country.
Subsequently, you will find that Korcula is almost entirely surrounded by the sea. Discover one of
the most well-preserved historic towns in the Mediterranean countries on the guided walk across
the town*.
Santorini/Cyclades The edge of the rock steeply rises out of the deep blue sea,
crowned by idyllic houses with whitewashed walls and little churches - Santorini! Retrace the
island's evolution on the hike on the volcanic island of Nea Kameni*. After the excursion to
the crater rim, the thermal springs on the neighbouring island Palea Kameni invite you to relax.
Quaint Santorini - the villages Megalochori and Pyrgos*: further unforgettable chapters of
this Greek summer's tale.
Nauplia/Peloponnesus Protected by three proud forts, the former Greek capital
city accommodates a picturesque historic district. Not at all far from here, you will be able to
admire the excavation sites Mycenae and Epidaurus*. The king's tomb with the Lion Gate
discovered by Heinrich Schliemann in 1876 holds moments in store for you which are just as
inspiring as those you will experience at the ancient healing centre of Epidaurus with its gigantic
amphitheatre. Corinth will thrill you with its ancient Temple of Apollo and an extremely
contemporary attraction - the Corinth Canal* is a waterway which is merely 23 m wide. While
it saves small ships having to circumnavigate the Peloponnesus, it calls for absolute precision
work on the part of the captains.
Piraeus (Athens)/Greece As the sun rises, we will be entering the port of
Athens.
