Spring on the Baltic Sea: Kiel, Germany Round trip
MS Europa 2 Voyage 1512 - May 14-21, 2015

Scandinavian flair and idyllic scenery plus cities full of hot trends – set off on a fascinating cruise on the Baltic Sea with the EUROPA 2 in Kiel. Whereas Riga will welcome you with maritime flair and a range of architectural styles, Stockholm will entice you to visit the most important milestones of the trendsetting band ABBA**. Gdansk, its majestic Malbork Castle** and the charming dune landscapes of Bornholm will make for the perfect backdrop to more relaxing days which will come to an end with passage in the Kiel Fjord.

Highlights of this cruise:

  • Quaintly beautiful: the old Hanseatic cities of Gdansk and Riga.
  • A different approach to Sweden’s capital: discover Stockholm in the footsteps of ABBA**.
  • Danish impressions: Bornholm and the idyllic fishing village of Gudhjem.

Passing picturesque islands and small cliffs, the EUROPA 2 will navigate through the famous rocky inlets where you can enjoy fantastic views of this natural panorama. You can enjoy a more hands-on experience with the green island world off Stockholm on a tour in an RIB**, a manoeuvrable inflatable boat. Fans of pop music will get their money’s as we explore the world of ABBA**: follow the important milestones of the trendsetting band and visit the ABBA museum which opened in spring 2013. Alternatively, take a bicycle tour through Stockholm** and enjoy surprising insights into the Swedish capital.
Tuesday 19-May-2015 Gdynia (Gdansk)/Poland 9.30 – 23.00 hrs
The glamour of Gdansk, which has evolved into a major centre of commerce, culture and politics over its 1,000-year history, is reflected in majestic town houses, the impressive St. Mary’s Basilica and the town hall on the Dlugi Targ (“long market”). A kayak tour** will provide exciting views of the city. The majestic Malbork Castle**, formerly the headquarters of the Teutonic Order and the largest brick building in Europe, is just as worth a visit as Gdansk itself.
Wednesday 20-May-2015 Gudhjem/Bornholm/Denmark, 11.00 – 17.00 hrs
Beautiful coastal and dune landscapes, half-timbered houses and small art galleries and smokehouses form the backdrop to another relaxing day on holiday. On a walk along the coast**, we will cut through the picturesque town of Gudhjem before our path leads us to the rugged Helligdomsklipperne, also known as Sanctuary Rocks. The four round churches, which were built around 800 years ago and which were originally used to protect the population, are the landmark of Bornholm. You can reach the smallest of these churches on a bicycle tour** in Nyker. You can then sample freshly smoked herring in the small fishing village of Hasle.
