Kiel
You could already be looking back on a few lovely days before you set sail in Kiel - enjoy Hamburg individually* prior to the beginning of your cruise. Perhaps with a walk around Lake Alster or a visit to Hagenbeck's Zoo?

Warnemuende
Even the German writers Fontane and Ringelnatz appreciated the broad sandy beach of Warnemuende back in their days. Since 1322, the former fishing village has been a district of the Hanseatic city of Rostock*, an important hub for German merchants and craftsmen in the Middle Ages. A stroll through the pretty historic centre takes you past gorgeous gabled houses, St. Mary's Church and the town hall overlooking the market square Neuer Markt. The city's university was already founded in 1419, and Holy Cross Abbey looks back on a long history, too. The Bad Doberan Minster* with a high altar dating back to the year 1310 is considered a gem of Northern Germany's brick Gothic architecture. Molli*, by contrast, is significantly younger - the steam railway has been connecting Bad Doberan with Heiligendamm, Germany's oldest seaside resort, since 1886. Back on board, the next major experience awaits you - at the charity event BIG EUROPA, you can taste first-class European wines and buy the huge 27 litre bottles at auction for a good cause. Following an exquisite charity dinner , a glamorous party will be hosted for you.

Gudhjem/Bornholm/Denmark
On a slope in the east of the Danish island lies its presumably most picturesque settlement with colourful half-timbered houses and winding alleys: Gudhjem. This is where Bornholm's beautiful "Riviera" with Svaneke, a little town that is very popular among artists, begins. The defensive round church of Nylars dates back to the 12th century, and the gorgeous broad beach of Dueodde is also one of the destinations of our landscape tour to the south of Bornholm*.

Copenhagen/Denmark
The charming Danish capital city is at the same time residence of the royal family. On a guided walk around the city*, you will be able to marvel at Copenhagen's quaint historic alleys, grand Amalienborg Palace and the trendy district Nyhavn. En route, a boat tour* will offer you insights from the water. And what would a stay in Copenhagen be without the sight of the Little Mermaid? Frederiksborg Castle* is considered one of the most beautiful examples of Renaissance architecture in Northern Europe. Today, it accommodates the National History Museum with the portrait gallery of all crowned heads since 1500. Elegant Fredensborg Palace, on the other hand, may only be admired from the outside - this is where Queen Margrethe II and Prince Henrik live in spring and autumn.

Kiel
Leave the EUROPA after four multifaceted days - and travel on to Hamburg in order to explore the popular Hanseatic city individually* for a while.

* These arrangements are not included in the cruise price. The shore activities listed here are in the planning stage and are subject to changes.
