Tahiti and Huahine: The Dream Begins Soak
up the magic of the South Seas on Tahiti. During a walk by the sea,
you will enjoy the flair of the South Seas just like Paul Gauguin and
Robert Louis Stevenson did in their days. Atmospheric landscapes await you
on the island of Huahine, which actually consists of two islands.
Legend has it that the God Hiro himself used a boat to establish the narrow
fairway between them. The beauties of his creation will be revealed on a
snorkelling safari*, during which you will be travelling in a local
boat like Hiro did in the distant past. In the shallow and crystal clear
waters sheltered by a reef, the Polynesian underwater world will present
itself to you in all its glory and diversity. Magnificent mountain
landscapes and a stopover on the picture-perfect beach of Huahine await you
in the course of the subsequent jeep tour*, which includes a visit
to an island village. Unforgettable moments on one of the most picturesque
islands in the South Pacific.
A Warm Welcome on the Cook Islands You are unlikely to tire
of feasting your eyes on the natural landscape of Rarotonga-
enchanting lagoons offer a stunning sight against the backdrop of the deep
green rainforest which is dotted with bright flowers in all kinds of colours.
As if that were not enough, you will discover a beach that appears to be
modeled on 1,000 dreams of yearning: Muri Beach. On a sightseeing flight
over the island*, Rarotonga's heavenly play of colours will present itself
as a synthesis of the arts underneath you, which you will be able to experience
up close on a jungle hike with Pa Son*. A native of Polynesia, Pa Son
will show you the beauty of the rainforest and provide you with plenty of
interesting information about the local flora and fauna along the way. An idyll
of tranquillity awaits you at the Aitutaki Atoll. While swimming and
snorkelling in the Blue Lagoon*, white beaches, azure blue water and a
romantic barbecue will have you forget the rest of the world. Alternatively,
you could explore the entire beauty of Aitutaki by leisurely gathering
island impressions*. Are you ready for a unique reception? That is
precisely what the inhabitants of the Palmerston Atoll will give you.
Their prayer, the sermon and the singing are touching - and voiced with the
grumpy accent of the English county Gloucestershire. The reason for this will
be disclosed to you by your expert during the guided walk across the island,
the white beaches of which make it almost impossible to resist the invitation
to go swimming and snorkelling.
The Myths and Fairytale Landscapes of Samoa In Apia,
the charming contrast between the busy western lifestyle and the South Seas
magic of black beaches and intensely green fairytale worlds will be revealed to
you. The peak of Mount Vaea above the city accommodates the final resting place
of the writer Robert Louis Stevenson, who had already chosen this beautiful
spot during this lifetime. On the neighbouring island of Savai'i, life is
somewhat more tranquil than in the capital city of Western Samoa. There, with a
bit of luck, a very special encounter awaits you in the little village of
Fagamalo. The local deity Tui Fiti, invisible to the natives,
occasionally presents itself to foreign visitors. Maybe you will be one of the
chosen few.
Tonga, the Regal Experience Welcome to the empire of King
George Tupou V. Here, you will set out from Neiafu on an island
tour*. Your destination: Mount Talau, the highest mountain on the island.
From a height of 131 m, the views across the Kingdom of Tonga and the sea are
fantastic. The scent you will have the opportunity to enjoy on a visit to a
farm with vanilla plants is equally fascinating. The South Seas are a feast for
all the senses - when you go swimming and snorkelling on Nuku Island*,
for instance, you will encounter marine creatures the colours of which even
outshine the blue of the ocean. The isle of Mala is one of the
highlights ashore. Enjoy the special feeling of effortlessly walking around the
periphery of an entire island. It is an untouched South Seas dream that is
continued in Ha'apai. This group of scattered and mostly uninhabited
palm-studded islands invites you on a tour of discovery and has left many
people longing to stay forever. Those that are lucky enough to live here are
governed from the "home of love": Nuku'alofa. This is where the royal
family's lovely palace made of Norfolk pines from New Zealand is to be found.
More island impressions* await you in the museum for Tongan culture and
at the blowholes in the coral banks, from which impressive fountains shoot up
as a result of the surf at high tide. And on a boat trip to the island of
Pangai*, you can surrender fully to the lightheartedness of life in the
South Seas. Swimming, snorkelling and relaxing to your heart's desire are on
the agenda.
A Journey into the Past on Fiji Founded by Europeans in
1830, Levuka has preserved the charm of the pioneering days. As a
result, your visit ashore will become a journey through time that will remain
unforgettable thanks to picturesque colonial-style houses and the friendliness
of the locals. The coral island Leleuvia also holds a unique South Seas
experience in store for you. Relax on the beach, discover the enigmatic
underwater life and join a cava ceremony. When you have a sip of this
ritualistic beverage, you may wish to drink to a reunion in the divine South
Seas in the near future.
