Costa Rica - Panama Itinerary

Day 1: (Sunday): Puntarenas Port - Curu (Costa Rica)
Embarkation at 15:00 - 16:00. Sailing to Curu Reserve. Evening arrival in Curu. Overnight at anchor at 6:00 pm.


Day 2: (Monday): Curu - Tortuga Island (Costa Rica)

Morning οptional walking excursion in the Curu Nature Reserve with the local Rangers and our on board naturalist. Late morning we rejoin the Voyager for a short sailing to Tortuga Island. We arrive in Tortuga Island at noon for swimming and snorkelling in the crystal clear waters of this paradise island before joining in for our beach BBQ. Later on we have more time for enjoying this amazing island. Overnight at anchor.

 

Day 3: (Tuesday): Tortuga Island - Quepos (Costa Rica)

Very early in the morning, we leave Tortuga Island for Quepos. Morning arrival in Quepos and transfer to the Manuel Antonio Reserve, one of the highlights of the cruise. Afternoon sailing to nearby Playa Bisanz for an afternoon swim. (Savegre River or Forest Canopy tour excursion participants rejoin the ship in Playa Bisanz). Tropical evening with dinner and  party  -  Late evening sailing to Golfo Dulce - Puerto Jimenez - Overnight at sea.

 

Day 4: (Wednesday): Puerto Jimenez - Gulfo Dulce Casa Orquideas Private Reserve - Golfito (Costa Rica)

We reach Puerto Jimenez early in the morning. Morning optional OSA PENINSULA excursion. The park is part of one of the biological corridors leading to the Corcovado National Park and offers the opportunity for a smooth walk in secondary forest and interaction with endemic animal life. We return to the ship for a late lunch while we cross Golfo Dulce towards Casa Orquideas.

After lunch, we reach by Casa Orquideas by tender, a beautiful  flowers sanctuary. Optional excursion in the grounds and time to swim at the end of the visit. We then sail into Golfito Bay  where we stop for immigration procedures and then sail overnight to Coiba Island. We reach GOLFITO in Golfo Dulce at midnight. Immigration and ship clearance process and overnight sailing to Coiba Island - PANAMA - Overnight at sea

Day 5: (Thursday): Coiba Island - Granito De Oro (Panama)

Morning arrival in Coiba Island a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the largest island in Central America. Optional morning walking excursion. Our Ship Naturalist will take you for a short walk up hill to discover the local forest and animal life. After our beach  BBQ on Coiba, we sail to nearby Granito de Oro Island for swimming and snorkelling in a pristine environment. The waters are teeming with marine life. It is surrounded by one of the largest coral reefs in the pacific coasts of the Americas and marks the beginning of the underwater Cordilera mountain chain that also includes Coco's and the Galapagos. This makes it a unique underwater experience you shouldn't miss. In the afternoon, we leave Granito de Oro and sail to Panama City. Overnight at sea.

 

Day 6: (Friday): Punta Patino (Panama)

Afternoon arrival Punta Patino - San Miguel Gulf. Overnight at anchor.

Day 7:(Saturday): Punta Patino - Darrien

Optional excursion to Punta Patino in the Darrien National park and to the Mogue Embera Reserve. We sail upstream the Mogue river in dugout canoes and reach the Village of Mogue after passing through a mangroves ecosystem. We are welcome by Embera Indians, one of the 7 indigenous groups living in Panama. They are proud and very friendly and known for their beautiful handicrafts and well preserved traditions. We will be invited to share their lunch and dance with them. In the evening  we sail to PANAMA CITY.


Day 8: (Sunday): Panama City (Panama)

Early morning arrival in PANAMA CITY- Flamenco Marina. Optional Panama City excursion. We prepare for an early afternoon canal crossing around 15:00. We cross the Miraflores and the San Pedro Locks  to enter the GATUN LAKE - Evening at anchor in Gatun Lake

 

Day 9: (Monday): Gatun Lake - Panama Canal (Panama)

Gatun Lake exploration. Morning excursion to Smithsonian’s Institute facility - Embera Village excursion- Late in the evening we exit the Gatun Lake at Gatun Locks.

Day 10: (Tuesday): Flamenco Marina, Panama City (Panama)

We exit the Canal  at the Miraflores Locks in the early hours of the morning and reach Flamenco Marina in Panama City. Disembarkation at 6:00 to 9:30am.

Panama - Costa Rica Itinerary

Day 1 :  (Sunday):
 Flamenco Marina, Panama City - Panama Canal Crossing (Panama)
Embarkation -13:00  to 13:30. We cross San Pedro and Miraflores locks in late afternoon and enter the Gatun Lake.
 
Day 2 (Monday): Gatun Lake - Panama Canal (Panama)
Gatun Lake exploration. Optional morning excursion to Smithsonian's Institute facility - Embera Village excursion- Late in the evening we exit the Gatun Lake at  the San Pedro and Miraflores Locks and reach Panama City in the early hours
 
Day 3 (Tuesday): Flamenco Marina, Panama City (Panama)
Optional morning excursion in Panama City and Canal - Afternoon at leisure - Overnight at sea to Punta Patino - Darrien
 
Day 4 (Wednesday): Punta Patino Darrien (Panama)

After a day at sea we reach Coiba and anchor near tiny Granito de Oro island. We will have time for late afternoon snorkeling and swimming on the island. Overnight at anchor
 
Day 6 (Friday): Coiba Island (Panama)Short sailing in the morning from Granito de Oro to nearby Coiba Island. Morning hill hike in the Reserve and time swimming and snorkeling. After the beach BBQ, we have more time for swimming in the afternoon before sailing away to Golfo Dulce- Overnight at sea.
 
Day 7 (Saturday): Golfito - Casa Orquideas Private Reserve - Puerto Jimenez - Golfo Dulce (Costa Rica)
We reach Golfito in the early morning for immigration procedures before continuing our sailing to nearby CASA ORQUIDEAS where we anchor. We reach Casa Orquideas and tender to this beautiful  flowers sanctuary. Visit of extensive and very well kept grounds. Time to swim at the end of the visit. We then sail across the Bay to Puerto Jimenez  while having a BBQ on deck. We reach Puerto Jimenez early in the afternoon. Optional OSA PENINSULA excursion. The park is part of one of the biological corridors leading to the Corcovado National Park and offers the opportunity for a smooth walk in secondary forest and interaction with endemic animal life. Overnight at sea to Quepos


Day 8 (Sunday): Quepos (Costa Rica)

Transfer to the MANUEL ANTONIO RESERVE for an optional morning excursion in this beautiful world famous Nature Reserve.   In the afternoon passengers can take an optional excursion to Savegre River or a Forest Canopy Tour.

Day 9 (Monday): Curu - Tortuga Island (Costa Rica)

Day 10 (Tuesday): Tortuga Island - Puntarenas Port (Costa Rica)

Morning sailing to Puntarenas . Arrival at Puntarenas port at 8:00. Disembarkation between 09:00 and 10:00.
